It’s the strategic point on the thoroughfare between Beijing & Shanghai, and also the center of politics, culture and economy in Shandong.
It’s one of the National Historical and Cultural Cities in China. Shun had cultivated here, Longshan Culture was born here, Qingzhao Li & Yanghao Zhang were both raised here. It has been praised as “city full of celebrities” in an old poem.
It’s one of the centers of politics, military and culture in China. As the joint of North & East China, it possesses one of 18 railways bureaus, one of seven military regions, over 40 universities & 200 scientific research institutions.
